Margarita Northrop, MPH, MIPA *

State Health Plan Coordinator, Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Office of Policy and Practice Alignment

Margarita Northrop (she/her), MPH, MIPA, is the State Health Plan Coordinator at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Office of Policy and Practice Alignment (OPPA). Much of her role evolves around facilitating partner engagement in the State Health Assessment and leading the implementation of the State Health Improvement Plan. She earned her Master of Public Health degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health and Master of International Public Affairs at the UW LaFollette School of Public Affairs. Margarita also served as a UW Population Health Fellow prior to permanently joining the DHS team and as a preceptor while in her OPPA role.

Margarita has background in social, economic and public health policy as well as community engagement and data-driven decision making. Her areas of focus are social determinants of health; health equity; systems and environmental change; and bridging social, economic and public health policy with community experiences.
