Geoffrey Swain, md, mph

Emeritus Professor, UW Department of Family Medicine and Community Health

Geoffrey Swain served for over 15 years as an Associate Professor / Professor in Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health, and for 14 years prior to that as a faculty member at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Swain also served for 26 years as Medical Director for the City of Milwaukee Health Department, and before that practiced Family Medicine as a physician and as a residency program faculty member.

Geof is the Founding Director of the Wisconsin Center of Health Equity. He continues to support the Wisconsin Population Health Service Fellowship Program, and in 2022 served as President of the Wisconsin Public Health Association (WPHA), which named him the 2020 recipient of their “Carol Graham Lifetime Achievement Award”.
