Led a project funded by the American Cancer Society to learn how African-Americans and their caregivers respond to cancer diagnoses. Based on that information, DeAnnah made recommendations on how the Cancer Society’s Patient Navigation system could be improved to better serve patient needs. This project included a survey of hundreds of Milwaukee area cancer patients as well as focus groups of patient, family caregivers and health providers.


The Wisconsin Population Health Service Fellowship is an initiative of the UW Population Health Institute’s Mobilizing Action Toward Community Health (MATCH) Group. The Fellowship program is funded by the Wisconsin Partnership Program at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health.
